The Server Management Transition (SMT) program is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Transition Manager. The purpose of the SMT program is to consolidate Reserve Bank servers and storage into the General Computing Services (GCS) organization.

The Transition Manager is responsible for managing the server management migration project of a Reserve Bank. They partner with the Reserve Bank and National Team members to ensure successful completion of all migration activities from pre-planning to post-transition close-out. They are the primary contact working directly with the Reserve Bank Transition Coordinator (person responsible for managing the end to end transition of assigned Reserve Banks).


PLEASE NOTE: This role is a transitional role, and therefore, is temporary in nature.

Key Activities
•Manages, motivates and directs team members to effectively execute the transitions
•Accountable for overall schedule of the migrations for the assigned Reserve Banks
•Responsible for the interactions and partnership with National and Reserve Bank leads
•Work with team members to manage risks and issues
•Validate that planning, requirements gathering, and design is sufficient to begin migrations
•Validate that all necessary sign-offs are in place from the RBs
•Conduct weekly communications/meetings with team
•Ensure all close-out activities are complete prior to exiting the RB activities
•Escalate risks, issues and impacts to key milestones
•Ensure Lessons learned and Best Practices are carried forward from one transition to the next


Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
•Minimum three years of technology project management experience.
•Knowledge of Federal Reserve System (e.g., business applications, technical support functions) to interface with staff
•Basic knowledge of technical areas (e.g., server and storage management)
•Excellent time management skills to balance various work requirements, prioritize project deliverables, identify and resolve issues and report status
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Excellent communication and inter-personnel skills
•Ability to convey ideas and concepts to others in order to be influential in determining preferred solutions
•Ability to lead a team in a virtual environment
•PMP preferred
•Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project
•Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
