Job Summary
Develops, establishes, and applies quality assurance testing standards and measures within the organization. Gathers and analyzes data including the review of systems requirements to write test plans and scripts , track and facilitate defect resolution, and apply analytical and problem-solving skills by collaborating with business and technical staff throughout the testing process.

Key Activities
•Responsible for developing test plans and creating test scripts
•Responsible for testing completed functional components to confirm deliverables meet requirements.
•Participate in daily meetings to communicate progress and barriers to completing application development and testing goals.
•Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as unit, system, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
•Contribute to the establishment and adherence to quality assurance guidelines and standards as defined by the project and/or organization requesting testing services.
•Initiate Change Requests (CRs) as appropriate to capture defects and enhancements identified during the testing process.
•Enter and track all daily activities using status tracking tools as required.
•Prepare and analyze test results to aid in problem solving and facilitate decision-making.
Qualifications

Technical Skills
•Minimum 3 years direct experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release required.
•Demonstrated experience writing test plans and test cases.
•Demonstrated experience with understanding written requirements, including use cases and supplementary specifications.
•Foundational knowledge of testing best practices and methodologies.
•Experience with data testing and validation techniques.
•Experience using relational database tools and concepts, including hands-on experience with query and reporting programs a plus.
•Proven application testing experience that includes testing of distributed applications on a variety of platforms such as DB2, SQL, Unix, Client Server, Web a plus.
•Exposure to change management, packaging and deployment concepts.
•Experience with testing automation concepts and tools, and scripting languages/tools a plus.
•Practical experience with the Rational Unified Process and Agile software development methodologies and practices a plus.
•Experience with HP Quality Center, including QTP a plus.
•Experience with change management tool, such as the Rational ClearQuest a plus.
•Experience with basic mainframe tools, such as TSO and SPUFI a plus.
•Experience with scripting/JCL and JES a plus.
•Familiarity with basic J2EE deployment concepts such as EAR and JAR files a plus.

Education
•Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years equivalent work experience.
