« Back to ResultsThe Treasury Services department needs a technical generalist who’s interested in obtaining the necessary knowledge to serve as one of the departments software configuration management professionals. While advanced knowledge of IBM ClearCase or IBM Unified Change Manager (UCM) would be preferred, the department is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter who possesses the right technical aptitude and analytical abilities to learn IBM ClearCase and the supporting configuration management tools (e.g., ANT). Below are the responsibilities and qualifications for the job.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Continually analyze processes to proactively implement improvements where possible.
Automate processes where possible to decrease time from build "request" to build "release."
Provide build support to project teams.
Manage source code tagging, branching, and merging.
Consult with appropriate teams on matters concerning build and release processes.
Manage multiple release streams within the source code management tool.
Create and maintain software-build procedures.
Research, design and implement new software configuration management tools from the ground-up to automate and release software applications.
Understand, monitor and help leads change in the product life cycle and the development process to carry forward software configuration management best practices.
Represent the software configuration management discipline in interdepartmental teams and work groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree specializing in information systems, technology, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of software development or software administration experience.
3+ years of experience with Unix scripting (e.g., Perl, Bash)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and Agile development.
Prior experience with build technologies, such as (Ant, Make, etc.), not required but preferred.
Flexibility to work in a constantly changing environment. Well organized and detail oriented.
Good verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas with a diverse group of people.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Must be a highly collaborative, engaging, and open minded professional.
Must work well in a geographically distributed environment and be proficient leveraging remote communication tools, such as IM and WebEx to facilitate discussions.
