Description – Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of many electric power energy market systems, specifically the PCI suite of products, OATI suite of products and the OpenLink Financial suite of products. Maintain close customer contact and provide liaison efforts for the problem resolution process for these systems. Maintain backlog of issues and monitor vendor progress on fixes. Implement fixes and assist with development for any and all plans related to changes with the software and with changes to market protocol and designs. Implement and monitor a data warehouse and related BI tools. Knowledge of hardware/software implementation practices and the SDLC is necessary. Must have excellent research and problem solving skills and be able to prepare reports and documentation related to the software operation. Must have strong customer interfacing and communications skills.
Experience Required – This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related scientific field. Experience with energy markets and specifically with software that handles market interfaces, settlements, etc. is highly desired. Specifically the minimum requirements for the Analyst III position requires a Bachelor in Information Technology and 4 years experience. Software required experience would include SQL, Java, Oracle and Windows Server 2003/2008. Ability to document software implementations and functional specifications is a requirement. Also, be able to write concise and detailed reports that refer to issue resolution for these systems.
Additional Experience Requested – Background in IT software management and development, specifically electric power industry energy markets, and more specifically the PCI suite of products, OATI suite of products and the OpenLink Financial suite of products. Experience with deal entry, tagging, oasis, deal capture, hedging (financial instruments), weather and load forecasting is desired. Experience with installing a data warehouse and various vendor BI tools, specifically Oracle OBIEE are desired also. Experience in building software interfaces to and from the above and other energy software is desired as well. Desire a minimum of a BS in Information Technology with a minimum of 5 years active experience with the systems described above. Knowledge of AVS scripting is a plus. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at simultaneously and be able to keep focus with the very dynamic issues that arise with energy markets. Understanding energy and commodity trading will be a benefit. Ability to research, report and implement fixes and new enhancements to the systems described herein is desired. Ability to document software implementations and functional specifications is a requirement. Also, be able to write concise and detailed reports that refer to issue resolution for these systems.
There is a chance that this position could convert after six months, but no gaurantees. The conversion salary would be low to mid 80’s.
