Big Data Architect
The Balance Innovations Development team is seeking highly motivated Big Data Architect. You will be part of an energetic core team building world-class software products to help our retail customers improve their businesses. This exciting opportunity is with our development team. The Big Data Architect works with leadership and product managers to provide strategic guidance, architecture and implements solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design and drive the implementation of a retail focused data platform for large data sets
• Work with broad range of stakeholders to understand the intersection of data and interaction of product needs
• Implement flexible solutions that anticipate the changes in product and business needs based on technology and organization strategy.
• Develop predictive models on large-scale datasets to address various business problems through leveraging advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques.
Requirements / Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in architecture, construction, and implementation of data-intensive solutions.
• Experience with multiple Big Data processing systems such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Storm, Pivotal HAWQ, MemSQl and their associated ecosystems.
• Understanding of visualization tools and techniques.
• Extensive experience in interaction with business and technology stakeholders in conceptual phases of product development.
• Bachelor’s degree (prefer Master’s) in computer science, information systems or other related field; or equivalent work experience.
