ESG Job Description for the Client Engineer position

Job Title:

Client Engineer

Roles:


The role of a Client Engineer is to act as the primary contact between ESG and a client.


The Client Engineer manages the client’s technology

solutions, and advises the client on technology best practices.


It is crucial for a Client Engineer to be both knowledgeable about technology and willing to share that

knowledge with respect to how it can improve the clien


Within each client environment, the Client Engineer is often regarded as the senior most technology

expert and is expected to provided technology support and consultation accordingly.


The Client Engineer is supported by other members of the ESG team including fellow Client Engineers,

Remote Support Engineers, the Client Coordinator, Subject Matter Experts, and ESG Management.

Responsible For:


Position is responsible for the management of one or more client environments including maintenance

and support of servers, desktops, and network infrastructure.


The role directly interacts on a daily basis with end-users, client executives, and ESG Management.

Core Skills Required:

The Client Engineer must possess knowledge and hands-on

experience

with the following technologies:


Microsoft Server Technologies


Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012 including DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory


Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2010, and 2013


Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)


Microsoft Desktop Technologies


Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8


Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010, Office 365


Remote Desktop and/or LogMeIn and/or Team Viewer


Network Infrastructure


Netgear, Linksys and/or Cisco Switches and Routers


Wireless Network Configuration


Basic CAT5/5e/6 Wiring

Additional Skills:

Ideal candidate should also possess the following characteristics:


Exceptional verbal and written communication skills


Ability to translate complex technical issues into common language


Willingness to learn new technologies rapidly and remain at the cutting edge of technologies which

benefit the small business marketplace


Ability to lift up to 60 lbs (i.e. transporting/relocating servers, desktops, monitors, etc)
