Senior Database Adminstrator/Architect
Database Administrator
The Balance Innovations Development team is seeking a highly motivated Database Administrator (DBA).
This role involves production administrative tasks, such as ensuring successful data protection, optimizing
queries and configuration, but also includes the development of new software systems. The role will work as
part of software development team to lead the data architecture of new and existing products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•
Lead database improvements, new design efforts and maintenance
•
Performance &
optimization
of development and production system
•
Performance & optimization tuning on OLAP database and ETL processes to populate from OLTP
database
•
Database Architect for all changes
•
Create database standards and best practices
•
Develop, analyze and approval of stored procedures, inline T-SQL statements
•
Produce and maintain logical and physical database models
•
Customer facing expert for database dialog and discussions
•
Security and administration for databases
•
Owner of 3rd party analysis software for performance tuning and optimization
•
Create appropriate documentation for database configuration and schema design
•
Create entity relationship diagrams
•
Ensure optimal data protection models are implemented such as backup, replication or mirroring
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
Strong troubleshooting tactics with a keen eye to identify root cause and implement corrective actions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Active team player who demonstrates sound judgment and interpersonal skills
Work in a retail environment not required, but helpful
