VENDORS- TELECONFERENCE SCHEDULED- Tuesday, December 11, 2012 1:30 CST. Teleconference #877.871.7101; Passcode #1203649 Structural Analysis Engineer with experience in Design and Analysis Aerospace Structures including FEA and hand calculation. Use of NASTRAN along with FEMAP or PATRAN. Job Description: Structural Analysis Engineer to support the development of spaceflight systems and components from concept through verification and delivery. As part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) the engineer will be responsible to: Develop structural concepts and perform preliminary sizing using classical mechanics calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to meet stiffness, strength and other critical requirements. Support development of fight hardware from preliminary through detailed design, drawing release, manufacturing, integration, verification testing, and transportation. Provide structural engineering and analysis support to the IPT to ensure that the design meets applicable requirements coordinating schedule, budget and deliverables with the IPT lead. Generate Finite Element Models and perform FEA for normal modes, linear static stress, elastic stability, clearance loss, distortion as well as nonlinear assessments to predict and improve structural response as needed. Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or civil engineering required. A graduate degree in one of these fields is desirable. A minimum of 3 years of relevant Structural Analysis experience preferably in the Aerospace industry. A minimum of 2 years of experience with FEA (Finite Element Analyses) of structures with NASTRAN using FEMAP or PATRAN as pre- and post- processors. Analysis background in the design and simulation of structures under environments including quasi-static inertial, mechanical, vibro-acoustic, thermal, and pressure loads desired. Experience performing classical mechanics and classical mechanical engineering analyses using software tools such as MathCad. Experience performing documentation of structural analysis activities, results, conclusions and recommendations to generate reports, technical memos and presentation packages. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to acquire a DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance is required, which usually requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.
