Duties and Responsibilities: Purchases machinery, equipment, tools, parts, services, and supplies necessary for operation of a manufacturing organization. • Obtains quotes, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, creates purchase orders, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. • Manages re-ordering of spare parts and tooling inventory. • Negotiates with suppliers; evaluates bids and proposals and makes award recommendations; analyzes requests for extensions or amendments to existing contracts and makes recommendations of approval or alternative solutions to management. Requirements: 3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting. • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations preferred. • Strong Negotiations Skills. • Demonstrated success in change management and continuous improvement. • Use of business knowledge, innovative thinking and sound judgment to effectively resolve problems. • Self starter, detail oriented, result driven. • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint. • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Mgmt or Business.
