Job Summary 

 

Provides  Applications/infrastructure support for the Kansas City Application Deployment and Middleware Services (ADMS) organization as an Information Systems Analyst.

Key Activities

• Installs, updates, maintains and monitors the operations of moderately complex automated systems and applications including, but not limited to, application software, server back up support, change/problem management, database management, and /or asset management.

 Provides a variety of second and third-level technology support services including troubleshooting/resolution of basic to moderately complex problems.
•  Utilizes  and implements software tools, scripts or systems to monitor the status, availability and performance of automated information services,
• Participates in and /or coordinates technology projects of varying complexity.  Provides technology system subject matter expertise.
• Evaluates and/or implements hardware and software products to improve efficiency, reliability or to provide new services.
• Works with limited oversight from senior, lead or management..
•  Seeks guidance from senior staff and/or management for issues outside scope of knowledge base, policies, procedures, etc..
• Interfaces with other technical experts and may provide training, oversight, mentoring, guidance and or direction to other team members and less experienced staff.         
• Scope of responsibility is within applications, middleware or system administration and support. 
• Moderate levels of experience, skill and depth.
•  May require weekend and evening hours and being on call 24 hours a day, with rotating on-call requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an information technology field (e.g. Computer/Management Information Systems (MIS/CIS), Computer Science (CS) Electrical/Computer Engineering (EE/CE), or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.  Bachelor's degree from a four-year college preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience providing systems analysis, system administration, systems installation, configuration and support of complex application and systems: to include Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products, custom developed applications, backup solutions, monitoring tools, etc. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency, formal training, and/or certification desired in specific technologies, operating systems and tools.
  • Experience with Redhat Linux 5.X or above and/or Windows Server 2008 and above experience.
  • Basic relational database experience, load balancing equipment e.g. Cisco Content Switch, Big IP F5.
  • Experience with configuring LDAP authentication and single-sign on e.g. SPNEGO, deploying web services, testing of in-house developed applications, Experience with JBOSS TomCat, WebSphere Application Servers (WAS) Network Deployment Administration version 6.1-8.5 or NET/IIS 7.x or above.
